European Academy for Young Conductors 2008 in Sweden NEW dates, NEW place: 4 - 10/8/2008 in Malmö (South of Sweden)
Message to all conductors interested in the European Academy for Young Conductors 2008 with Anders Eby
Dear friends,
Unfortunately we have had to change the place and the dates for the European Academy for Young Conductors 2008 in Sweden with Anders Eby. It was not possible to organise the Academy at the Stockholm Conservatory of Music as planned originally. Instead we are very happy to announce that this course of Europa Cantat and AGEC will be offered in cooperation with the following Swedish partners: Sveriges Körförbund Malmö Conservatory of Music - Malmö Höskola Körcentrum Syd
The course will take place in Malmö in the South of Sweden, from August 4th 2008 (day of arrival) until August 10th 2008 (day of departure) with the final concert on Saturday, August 9th in the evening.
Prof. Anders Eby will work on the following programme: B. Britten: Flower Songs / M. Ravel: Trois Chansons / I. Lidholm: Motto / P. Hindemith: Six Chansons / W. Stenhammar: Tre Körvisor / O. Lindberg: Stjärntändningen / S.E. Johanson: Snabbt jagar stormen vara ar / G. Hahn: Rondo Lapponico / Ake Malmfors: Wiegenlied, Scherzlied / R.V. Williams: Three Elisabethean Partsongs / F. Poulenc: Sept Chansons
The participants will be able to work with a top-level choir-in-residence each morning and will have lectures, evaluation sessions and individual lessons in the afternoons.
The programme will be presented in a public concert at the end of the course.
Since it was not possible for us to publish this information any earlier, the deadline for applications will be POSTPONED to March 31st 2008.
Applicants will be informed during the month of April 2008.
The participation fees will be 10 EUR per persons higher than in 2007 and will include participation in the course and lunch on the 5 working days as well as a welcome and farewell party.
Accommodation, dinner and scores will not be included.
As in 2007 the organisation will try to help with private accommodation for those who may not be able to afford a hotel.
