International Harald Andersén Chamber Choir Competition for the third time in September 2009 - The application dead line on January 30, 2009!
III International Harald Andersén Chamber Choir Competition is held in Helsinki, Finland on September 11-12, 2009. This highly appreciated competition is open to mixed chamber choirs of any nationality with 16 to 40 singers. The choirs may also include professional singers.
On the basis of the entry forms and demos a maximum of 12 choirs will be selected for the competition, and not more than six choirs will continue in the final round. The prizes are greater than ever: I prize 15 000 EUR, II prize 9 000 EUR and III prize 6 000 EUR. The members of the jury are Tõnu Kaljuste (Estonia), Kaspars Putninš (Latvia), Mats Nilsson (Sweden), John Storgårds (Finland), and Karmina Šilec (Slovenia).
I International Harald Andersén Chamber Choir Competition was held in August 2003. The winner of the first competition was Finnish EMO Ensemble conducted by Pasi Hyökki. The first prize of the second competition, held in September 2006, was not awarded but the second prize was shared with Swedish Sofia Vocal Ensemble conducted by Bengt Ollén and Hungarian Victoria Chamber Choir conducted by Ádám Cser. In addition there have been choirs participating from Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, United Kingdom, and United States of America.
